What You Will Learn You
will learn the way culinary students learn. By starting with the basic fundamentals. When you master
the basics you will cook with confidence.
The biggest mistake that most beginners make is to
enroll in a cooking a class that it too advanced. Just
because you like to eat soufflés doesn’t mean you should
start there.
The coaching package: Help, I have a Kitchen, will begin
with a personal interview to identify your cooking
needs, goals, expectations, limitations, diet, food
allergies or restrictions. The coach will do a kitchen
assessment – what equipment do you have and what you
need.
When you’re ready – we move on to Knife Skills – the
fundamental skill of professional or home chefs alike.
Good, safe knife skills will change the way you cook –
even if you have been cooking for years.
When you have mastered knife cuts, we will move on to
Methods of Cooking – sauté, pan fry, stir fry, deep fry,
roasting, baking,
braising, grilling, steaming, and poaching. If you can
learn these methods, you can cook anything. Along the
way you will learn how to stock your pantry for stress free meal preparation, food storage and
handling,
and kitchen safety. |
